What defines the identity of a cell? And how is the same genetic code used to build more than 200 different cell types? These fundamental questions drive our enthusiasm for understanding how information processing is regulated by chromatin modifications and DNA sequence. In our lab we combine experimental and computational strategies to understand how chromatin is regulated and how various chromatin modifications instruct gene activity.
